Thank You

After 25 years of Urology Private practice in the Berwick area and St John of God, I proudly and with a measure of sadness, announce my retirement from Private Practice effective May 28, 2026. I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a surgeon through St John of God Hospital and to live locally in the Berwick area myself.

To my patients: it has been a privilege to know you / treat you and hopefully improve your lives to the best of my ability. To the doctors who trusted me with their precious patients I have always been honoured and humbled by the sanctity of this faith.

The medical profession is extremely challenging, a balance between skill, discipline and objectivity vs compassion, communication and understanding. Every day, every decision, every patient encounter requires 100% commitment. Being in the present is imperative, as if nothing else in the world matters outside the dynamic of a consultation or a complicated operation, striving at all times to uncover subtlety and provide explanation in language both empathetic and understandable. That has been my goal since every day.

I am now very pleased to pass my Urology Practice to Dr Simeon Ngweso, a talented young Urologist with ethos that reflects my own and skills of the highest quality. I know the Berwick area will be well served by Simeon and his career will flourish. Meanwhile I will continue as Director of Monash Health where my goal has been to establish a highly functional Urology Unit with commitment to Academics, Training and Excellence in Surgery.

Kind Regards

Dr Scott Donnellan
